History of After Hours Farm

Barn

After moving to upstate New York in 1977, I became a “dba” in 1979 under the name After Hours Farm. Through the years I leased stalls, and then farms in the area, with horses and students in tow. In November 1999, I purchased our current location - one which I had leased for over 11 years.

Here is some trivia!

As you now know, After Dark was the name of my first horse. When I was in college, my thesis was on “After Images”. You guessed it: My third horse was named “After Image”. I was still in New Jersey starting my teaching business and working in a high school guidance department as well, when I thought that “After Hours” would be an appropriate name. Reason being - I did most of my riding after hours.

There were a few more “after” horses too. Apreslesoliel - a very colorful appaloosa who went from a western backyard horse to a 3’6” hunter. After The Goldrush was a palomino appaloosa with a terrific jump and gaits to match.
